Meet our Attorneys:

Julie A. Franklin, Esq.

Attorney Julie A. Franklin received her bachelors degree in Political Science from the University of Georgia in 2008. She received her J.D. from New England Law in 2011. Attorney Franklin is licensed to practice law in the state of New York as well as the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Attorney Franklin is the managing attorney of Affordable Law Group.

Attorney Franklin practices in bankruptcy law with particular focus on individual and corporate Chapter 7 and 13 filings. Attorney Franklin also handles other civil matters including but not limited to landlord tenant and consumer protection. Attorney Franklin is also an associate attorney at the Law Office of Jeffrey M. Frankel located in Quincy, MA, where the practice focuses on bankruptcy, real estate, and landlord tenant matters.

Attorney Franklin is a member of the Boston Bar Association, the Massachusetts Bar Association and the New York Bar Association and volunteers as a PAL for Horizons for Homeless Children.

Amanda Castro, Esq.

Amanda joined Affordable Law Group in 2014 and practices in family law as well as in the areas of housing, consumer protection, and civil litigation.

Amanda graduated Magna Cum Laude from Suffolk University Law School where she was a front-office editor on the Suffolk University Law Review as well as a Student Attorney in the Juvenile Defenders Clinic. Amanda served as a law clerk in the Middlesex Probate and Family Court where she gained extensive knowledge and insight into all facets of family law. She also served as a legal intern at the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office.

Amanda has a specific understanding of the sensitive and emotional issues involved in family law cases and is dedicated to providing legal representation to individuals at every income level.

Sidra Vittale, Esq.

Attorney Sidra Vitale graduated from the University of California, Irvine, with a bachelor of science degree in Physics with a Concentration in Astrophysics in 1995. After a decade as a software engineer, she turned to law and received her J.D. cum laude from New England School of Law (now New England Law | Boston) in 2007. She served as an intern with the Executive Office of Environmental and Energy Affairs, the American Wind Energy Association, and the Environmental Protection Division of the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office. She also served as Lead Article Editor for the New England Journal on Civil and Criminal Confinement.

Attorney Vitale was appointed to a one-year post-graduate fellowship at New England Law | Boston in 2007, where she represented residents of Brockton and West Bridgewater opposed to development of a dual-fuel power plant near their local schools and senior housing. For her work, she was honored as Pro Bono Advocate of the Year by environmental and social justice organization Alternatives for Community and Environment.

Attorney Vitale currently practices immigration law, with a focus on immigrant visas based on family connections, U and T visas for immigrant victims of crimes or human trafficking, adjustment of status, removal defense, including cancellation, NACARA, and asylum, as well as temporary protected status, special immigrant juvenile status, deferred action (including DACA or “Dream Act” cases and DAPA), prosecutorial discretion, and protection for abused immigrant spouses under the Violence Against Women Act.

Attorney Vitale is an adjunct professor of legal research and writing at New England Law | Boston. She volunteers her legal services pro bono through Kids in Need of Defense to indigent immigrant minors seeking Special Immigrant Juvenile status.

Attorney Vitale is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association, the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Boston Bar Association, and the Women’s Bar Association. She is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the District of Columbia, and before the First Circuit Court of Appeals.

Max Martucelli, Esq.

Attorney Martucelli is the newest addition to the ALG team. He attended the University of South Carolina, where he received his bachelor’s degree in Political Science and his Juris Doctorate.

Attorney Martucelli practices litigation and trial law focusing mainly on criminal defense in District Courts. He also handles civil matters, including landlord tenant disputes, lemon law cases, and other consumer protection issues. Attorney Martucelli strives to help regular people who find themselves at odds with a larger opponent. In addition to working with ALG, Attorney Martucelli works as an associate attorney for several Boston area criminal defense attorneys and maintains a private practice in Boston.

Attorney Martucelli is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association and the Boston Bar Association.

Melissa A. Levine-Piro, Esq.

Melissa is the founder of Affordable Law Group. Melissa practices full time at her Maynard firm, Levine-Piro Law, P.C. and part time for Affordable Law Group.

Melissa wasnamed a Super Lawyer Rising Star for 2015 and 2016. Each year no more than 2.5% of attorneys in Massachusetts are selected to receive this honor.

Melissa practices in the areas of construction law, contracts, general civil litigation and family law. She works extensively with victims of domestic violence and has received domestic violence and trauma survivor’s advocacy training through the Massachusetts Coalition Against Domestic Violence and the Women’s Bar Foundation’s Family Law Project.

In 2012 Melissa was named a rising star by the Middlesex West Chamber of Commerce, recognized for her contributions as a young professional in the local community. She is currently the President of the Middlesex West Chamber of Commerce, the Board of Visitors for Lawrence Academy, and is the Co-President of the Maynard Business Association.

Melissa is a member of the Massachusetts Bar, Boston Bar Association, Massachusetts Bar Association, Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys, Maynard Business Alliance, Maynard Revitalization Committee, and the Women’s Bar Association.
